Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has plans to set up a strategic electronics facility in Kerala. The venture that will be built in the Kinfra Industrial Park, at Kerala’s Kasargod district, will occupy a built up area of approximately 4,000 sq m. The investment in the venture is expected to be around Rs 200 crore. The authorities informed that the facility is expected to begin operations from the third quarter of the next financial year and is expected to manufacture and maintain computers-used onboard aircraft. HAL’s division manufactures electronic equipment and provides maintenance support to electronic systems needed for various aircraft. It also caters to the requirements of avionics for space applications
