Eastman to Discontinue Production of Eastman

Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE:EMN) will discontinue production of Eastman™ PET 5214A at the end of 2008.
Eastman PET 5214A is a PET resin commonly sold to customers for use in the pharmaceutical industry. Consistent with previous announcements, Eastman will be exiting this PET product to further rationalize capacity, restructure assets, and enable growth in its specialty copolyester business.
Current customers were notified on July 31, 2008, and are being provided further details from their Eastman sales representatives.
