Japanese top seed Go Soeda won the title of 2007 ITF Men’s Circuit by defeating second seeded Greek Vasilis Mazarakis 6-3, 6-1 in Beijing on Sunday.

The first set was tight at the very beginning. Neither of the players managed to grab a break until first seed Soeda broke the opponent in the seventh and ninth game to seal the set 6-3.

Soeda played with even greater aggression in the second set, only giving Mazarakis one chance to hold his service and finishing the match in one hour, seven minutes.

“It was a tough match, but I was able to break his serve, which is why I could finally win,” said Soeda after the match. “Now I feel really good. This week was very tough and there was a lot of pressure.”

“I am not satisfied with today’s performance. It is such a long week and I am tired and not in my best shape,” said a disappointed Mazarakis. (Xinhua)
