KUALA LUMPUR, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) — Filippo Savini of Italy won the 127km stage eight of the Malaysia’s Tour de Langkawi cycling on Saturday, while Moldova’s Ruslan Ivanov became the overall leader.

Ivanov was on the heels of Savini during the stage, with Colombia’s Jose Serpa Perez taking third place.

France’s Matthieu Sprick, who had previously worn the yellow jersey, was eighth, leaving him in second overall.

Sunday’s ninth and final stage — the Kuala Lumpur Criterium –will take the racers 80.4 kilometres through the streets of the capital.
