BERLIN, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) — Cameroon coach Otto Pfister said on Tuesday that he will continue to coach the team and try to lead Cameroon to 2010 World Cup finals.

The 70-year-old German, who had hinted to quit after Cameroon’s1-0 loss to Egypt in Sunday’s African Nations Cup final in Ghana, confirmed to German football magazine Kicker that he would be staying.

“I am going on holiday for three weeks and then we go on. We have friendly matches in the next month and then the World Cup qualifiers begin at the end of May,” Pfister said.

The final defeat to Egypt was the second losing Nations Cup final for Pfister, who was also beaten in 1992 when Ghana lost on penalties to Cote d’Ivoire in Senegal.

“I have to accept it, I cannot change it. Life goes on,” he said. “The whole team was really down after the loss but after two, three hours everyone was laughing again.”
