Phelps wins 200m medley title with world record

MELBOURNE, March 29 (Xinhua) — Michael Phelps of the United States broke the 200 meters individual medley world record and won the gold medal at the World Championships here on Thursday.
Phelps touched the wall in 1:54.98, beating the previous record of 1:55.84 set by himself last year.
Ryan Lochte of the United States took the silver in 1:56.19 and Laszlo Cseh of Hungary won the bronze in 1:56.92.
