Aug 13 (Reuters) – Factbox on Kristin Armstrong (U.S.) who won the Olympic gold medal in the women’s cycling individual time trial on Wednesday.

Armstrong spent a year at the United States Olympic Training Center as a triathlete. She was a junior Olympian in swimming. She was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in 2001 which ended her triathlon career.
