A look at NBC Universal’s coverage of the Summer Olympics:
PLEASE SAVE ME FROM MYSELF: “Holy Talita!” NBC announcer Chris Marlowe said during the Brazilian’s beach volleyball match against Americans Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor.
WATCH OUT, ROWDY GAINES: An MSNBC review of how much money Michael Phelps could make lists a possible salary as a TV swimming analyst. Hmmm. Who has that job now for NBC?
DISCUS: American Stephanie Brown Trafton deserved more attention than she got for her surprise gold medal in the discus. We did like the interview where she talked about buying a leotard after Mary Lou Retton became an Olympics star. Her body type steered her away from gymnastics, but she’s a champion nonetheless.
